About Blue Mountain

Blue Mountain is Ontario's largest and most popular ski resort — a four-season destination on the shores of Georgian Bay, about two hours north of Toronto, that serves as the primary ski hill for Canada's most populated region. The resort's 43km of terrain across 16 lifts spans a modest 225m of vertical drop on the Niagara Escarpment, but what it lacks in alpine scale it compensates for with an excellent pedestrian village, extensive snowmaking that covers 100% of terrain, and a family-friendly atmosphere that has made it the go-to winter getaway for millions of Southern Ontario residents. Blue Mountain's village, developed by Intrawest (the same company behind Whistler's village), features over 30 restaurants and bars, shops, a spa, and year-round activities including a ridge runner mountain coaster and scenic caves. The skiing itself is best suited to beginners and intermediates, with gentle, well-groomed runs that are ideal for families and learning. On the Ikon Pass, Blue Mountain provides a useful stop for US travellers combining skiing with a visit to Toronto or Niagara Falls. For families within driving distance of Toronto seeking a complete village resort experience, Blue Mountain delivers far more than the modest vertical might suggest.
