About Brighton

Brighton Resort sits at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon — one of the two canyons southeast of Salt Lake City that together contain some of the most reliably deep and dry powder skiing in North America — and has operated since 1936 as a no-frills, locals-first ski area with lift ticket prices that remain among the lowest of any comparable resort in Utah. Its 1,050 skiable acres include genuinely challenging terrain in the Great Western Bowl and the often-wind-loaded slopes above the main lifts, and Brighton is one of the few Utah resorts that permits snowboards, making it more inclusive than its Cottonwood neighbours. Night skiing is available several evenings per week, and the resort's straightforward, unpretentious culture makes it particularly popular with Salt Lake City families looking for accessible, affordable days on excellent snow.
