About Falls Creek

Falls Creek is Victoria's largest ski resort and the only fully self-contained snow village in Australia, a compact pedestrianised alpine settlement at 1,500m in the Victorian High Country where all accommodation, restaurants, and facilities sit directly on the snowfield — no car parks at the base, no trudging from distant lodges. Its 92km of runs across the Village Bowl, Sun Valley, and the Summit Area offer solid intermediate terrain and some of the better beginner progression areas in Australia, while the wide, wind-exposed Summit Area provides more challenging conditions for advanced skiers during good snowfall years. Falls Creek's relative remoteness from Melbourne — 330 minutes by road — creates a more genuine mountain-escape atmosphere than the more easily reached Snowy Mountains resorts; guests tend to stay for the week and the resort develops a strong communal character that distinguishes it from day-tripper destinations.
