About Gudauri

Gudauri is one of Europe's most exciting emerging ski destinations, a high-altitude resort at 2,200m in the Greater Caucasus Mountains of Georgia, two hours north of Tbilisi on the Georgian Military Highway. Its 57km of marked piste are accompanied by vast quantities of off-piste terrain that has attracted a growing international freeride community, and the Caucasian snowpack — cold, dry, and deep — regularly delivers the powder conditions that Western Alpine resorts promise but increasingly struggle to deliver. Infrastructure has improved substantially since 2010 with modern chairlifts and gondolas replacing outdated Soviet-era drag lifts, and the resort is investing further ahead of an expected surge in international visitors. The cultural dimension is exceptional: Georgian food, wine, and hospitality are world-class, and the combination of mountain adventure and a richly distinct cultural experience — the ancient capital Mtskheta is just 90 minutes from the slopes — makes Gudauri one of the most compelling ski destinations in the broader European sphere.
