The ski area's concentration on the sheltered southern slopes of the Kopaonik plateau delivers consistent snow coverage from December through March, with the resort's own snowmaking network providing backup during lean winters; altitude helps too, with the summit at 2,017m generating the lower temperatures that preserve natural snow better than most Balkan alternatives.
