About Mürren

Mürren is a car-free village perched at 1,650m on a cliff-top terrace above the Lauterbrunnen valley, accessible only by cable car and mountain railway, with an unobstructed north face view of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau that is among the finest in the Alps. Part of the Jungfrau ski region with 213km of piste, it is home to the Inferno race — the world's longest amateur downhill event — and the Schilthorn summit at 2,971m, made famous as a James Bond filming location. The absence of cars, the traditional Swiss architecture, and the alpine quietude make Mürren one of the most authentic and atmospheric ski villages in Switzerland.
