About Snowbasin
Snowbasin hosted the downhill and super-G events at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics, and the legacy of that event is visible in the scale and quality of its lift infrastructure and on-mountain lodges — among the finest day lodges in North American skiing. Its 3,000 skiable acres receive the same dry Utah powder that makes the neighbouring resorts famous, but Snowbasin attracts significantly fewer visitors than Park City or the Cottonwood Canyon resorts, resulting in far less crowded conditions on a mountain of considerable variety. The Earl's Lodge and Needles Lodge at mid-mountain are genuinely exceptional day facilities, the expert terrain off John Paul and Strawberry gondolas is challenging and diverse, and the resort's lower profile in the broader ski market means it consistently punches above its weight for value.
