About Arosa
Arosa is a high-altitude village at 1,800m in a natural bowl at the head of the Schanfigg valley, accessible only by a spectacular narrow-gauge railway from Chur — the journey itself becoming part of the resort's charm. Since 2014 it has been linked by gondola to neighbouring Lenzerheide, creating the 225km Arosa Lenzerheide ski area and transforming what was once an isolated resort into one of the more significant ski destinations in Graubünden. The high base altitude provides reliable snow throughout the season, and the car-free upper village retains a genuine Swiss mountain character free from the traffic that mars many lower valley resorts.
