About Bormio

Bormio is a historic spa town in the Valtellina valley that has hosted the men's downhill and super-G at multiple Alpine World Ski Championships, its celebrated Stelvio piste — starting at 3,012m and dropping over 1,800 vertical metres — considered one of the most demanding and rewarding race courses in the world. The town at 1,225m retains a medieval centre of cobbled streets, piazzas, and thermal baths fed by natural mineral springs that have attracted visitors since Roman times, giving Bormio a cultural depth rare in ski resorts. The ski area is relatively compact at 50km, but the altitude range and technical challenge of the upper mountain more than compensate for the limited piste kilometres.
