About La Thuile

La Thuile is a former mining village at 1,441m in the Aosta Valley that forms one half of the Espace San Bernardo ski domain — 160km of piste shared with La Rosière in France across the Little St Bernard Pass, providing a genuinely satisfying cross-border ski experience at a fraction of the cost of comparable Aosta Valley resorts. The high altitude and predominantly north-facing orientation give La Thuile above-average snow reliability for the western Alps, and its relative obscurity among international visitors keeps lift queues manageable even during peak season. The village has a working Alpine community character, with good Italian restaurants and none of the self-conscious glamour of nearby Courmayeur or Cervinia.
