About Les Houches

Les Houches is the quiet end of the Chamonix valley, a genuine working village at 1,008m with 55km of predominantly tree-lined piste that provides exceptional bad-weather skiing when the higher resorts are socked in. Its Kandahar black run — a historic men's downhill race course — is the most demanding piste in the Chamonix area, but the resort is otherwise genuinely suited to families and beginners who want Mont Blanc views without Chamonix prices or crowds. A free shuttle bus connects to Chamonix town for access to the valley's restaurants, shops, and the iconic Aiguille du Midi cable car.
