About Megève

Megève is one of the most elegant ski resorts in the Alps, a medieval village at 1,113m in the shadow of Mont Blanc that was reinvented as a fashionable winter destination by the Rothschild family in the 1920s as an alternative to the Swiss resorts then popular with European aristocracy. Its 445km of piste across three interconnected massifs suit intermediates and mellow cruisers rather than hard-charging experts, but Megève rewards those who value superb Savoyard cuisine, luxury accommodation, and one of the most beautiful village settings in French skiing. Its low altitude means snow reliability is variable — check conditions carefully before booking a January or March visit.
