About Montgenèvre

Montgenèvre sits on the French-Italian border at 1,860m on the Col de Montgenèvre — one of the oldest Alpine passes — and forms the French gateway to the Via Lattea, a cross-border ski domain of 400km linking five resorts including Sestriere and Sauze d'Oulx on the Italian side. The high base altitude and southerly exposure provide reliable snow and generous sunshine, while the resort's compact village character and strong family facilities make it one of the most underrated high-altitude destinations in the southern French Alps. Skiing into Italy for lunch is straightforward and adds a memorable cross-cultural dimension to the ski day.
