About Myoko Kogen

Myoko Kogen is a cluster of eight ski resorts spread across the volcanic mountains of southern Niigata Prefecture, collectively offering some of the deepest snowfall in Japan. Positioned directly in the path of moisture-laden winter storms crossing the Sea of Japan, Myoko regularly records snowfalls exceeding 20 metres per season. The area retains a distinctly local character — quieter and more affordable than Niseko — yet delivers world-class powder skiing across a variety of interconnected ski areas including Akakura, Ikenotaira, and Suginohara.
