About Perisher

Perisher is Australia's largest ski resort by both area and lift count, a sprawling network of four interconnected villages — Perisher Valley, Smiggin Holes, Guthega, and Blue Cow — that together offer 130km of marked piste served by 47 lifts in Kosciuszko National Park. Its size is its primary advantage: with more runs, more lifts, and more terrain variety than any other resort in the Southern Hemisphere outside New Zealand and South America, Perisher can absorb large crowds and still offer something for all ability levels across its broad, above-treeline alpine plateau. The resort is accessed via the unique Skitube Alpine Railway — an underground rack-and-pinion train that departs from Bullocks Flat on the Alpine Way — eliminating the need to drive on potentially icy mountain roads and making it genuinely accessible for families. Snow reliability at Perisher's relatively modest altitudes is weather-dependent; artificial snowmaking covers the key runs but powder days are occasional rather than routine.
