About Whistler Blackcomb

Whistler Blackcomb is the largest ski resort in North America by any meaningful measure — 8,171 skiable acres across two distinct mountains linked by the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola, which holds world records for its length and the height of its span above the valley floor. The combined vertical drop of 1,609 metres on Blackcomb and 1,530 metres on Whistler exceed virtually every European resort and most other destinations on the planet. The pedestrianised Whistler Village at the base, developed following the original Whistler Mountain opening in 1966, has evolved into a year-round resort town of genuine substance, with a restaurant scene, accommodation quality, and cultural calendar that justify the two-hour transfer from Vancouver International Airport. It hosted the alpine events of the 2010 Winter Olympics and remains the defining North American ski destination for international visitors.
