About Baqueira Beret

Baqueira Beret is Spain's finest ski resort and the perennial winter destination of the Spanish royal family and the Madrid and Barcelona social elite, set in the glacially-carved Val d'Aran in the Pyrenean high country at 1,500m to 2,510m. Its 167km of piste are the most varied and technically interesting in the Iberian Peninsula, with a genuine mix of wide cruising runs, mogul fields, and tree skiing that rewards repeat visits. The Val d'Aran's unusual north-facing orientation funnels Atlantic weather systems into the valley, giving Baqueira above-average snowfall by Pyrenean standards, and the Aranese culture of the valley — a Gascon language and distinct culinary tradition — adds genuine interest beyond the skiing.
