About Fernie Alpine Resort

Fernie Alpine Resort in the Lizard Range of southeastern British Columbia is one of Canada's most celebrated powder destinations, receiving an average of 30 feet of dry, light snowfall per season in a position that captures systems moving across the Columbia Basin before they reach the more exposed Rockies to the east. Its 2,500 skiable acres across five bowls — Lizard, Currie, Timber, Cedar, and Siberia — provide an enormous variety of terrain from wide groomed intermediates to challenging off-piste descents, with tree skiing in the glades below the bowls as exceptional as anywhere in British Columbia. The town of Fernie at the base of the mountain is a genuine mining and ranching community that has gradually become a ski destination while retaining its working-town character, keeping prices and attitudes more grounded than the purpose-built resort towns further up the Trans-Canada corridor.
