About Heavenly
Heavenly Mountain Resort straddles the California-Nevada state line above South Lake Tahoe, offering the most striking lake views of any ski resort in the Sierra Nevada — the turquoise expanse of Lake Tahoe spread 300 metres below the summit on one side, and the Nevada high desert rolling away to the east on the other. With 4,800 skiable acres and 97 named trails across a broad, undulating ridgeline, Heavenly suits strong intermediates particularly well, though its steeper chutes and tree-skiing on the Nevada side provide genuine challenge for advanced skiers. The proximity of South Lake Tahoe's casino-hotel strip means accommodation is plentiful and often surprisingly affordable, making this one of the better-value major resort experiences in California.
