About Killington

Killington is the largest ski resort in the eastern United States, spreading 1,509 acres across six interconnected mountain peaks in the Green Mountains of central Vermont with the longest season of any resort on the East Coast — typically opening in October and closing in late May through a combination of natural snowfall and one of the most extensive snowmaking systems in the world. It is the closest approximation the American East has to a western ski experience: its trails are longer, its vertical drop greater (3,050 feet), and its expert terrain more demanding than any other resort in the region, including the notorious Outer Limits mogul run that hosts World Cup mogul competitions. The resort's infrastructure is enormous by New England standards, with six base lodges and a purpose-built resort village — The Beast of the East nickname is earned rather than marketing.
