About Stowe

Stowe Mountain Resort is the most iconic and historically significant ski resort in New England, operating since 1937 on the flanks of Mount Mansfield — Vermont's highest peak — in a picture-postcard Vermont village that defines the American ski town aesthetic for much of the country. Its 485 acres include the famous Front Four trails — National, Liftline, Starr, and Goat — a row of steep, sustained black diamonds on the main face that have served as the proving ground for generations of eastern US skiers. Vail Resorts' substantial recent investment in lifts and snowmaking infrastructure has brought the mountain's technical capabilities in line with its legendary reputation, and the Stowe village itself — church steeples, covered bridges, maple syrup producers, and a strong inn-and-restaurant culture — provides an après-ski experience of genuine New England character.
